Work on the Memphis to Charleston Railroad created the pond that gives this park its name in 1853. Located in Southwest Tennessee, over 4,000 acres of waterways, bottomland hardwood forest, and timberland shelter waterfowl, whitetail deer, and bass, bream, and catfish. Over 30 miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails lead through the forest, swamp, and to a 70-foot fire tower.
